I deeply empathize with Vinesh. She is a dedicated athlete who worked tirelessly and fought her way to the final with brilliance. Her journey has been remarkable, offering valuable lessons," Ashwini shares."Certain individuals can handle criticism on social media, while others struggle with it," Ashwini advises that staying away from social media can help maintain a strong mental state and avoid unnecessary pressure during high-profile events like the Olympics. "I found that social media brought in a lot of negative feedback during the Paris Olympics. While some can overlook external criticism, not everyone can. I have learned from that experience," she explains.Government funding is provided to sportspeople, but it is essential that the funds are utilized effectively. Not all players possess a high level of mental strength. Coaches and support staff should focus on boosting players' confidence in addition to improving their skills. There is immense pressure on athletes during the Olympics. Hope and pressure are two sides of the same coin. How one manages expectations is key," Ashwini Ponnappa emphasizes.
